1 commuter 上下班的人，通勤者 （常常指从郊区去市区上下班的人）

如：The bus is jam-packed with commuters. 公交车里挤满了上下班的人。

2 rush hour 高峰期

如：During rush hour the buses are always jam-packed with commuters. 在高峰期，公交车总是挤满了上下班的人。

3 be jam-packed 拥挤的=be crowded

如：The underground tains in London are always jam-packed with commuters, especially during rush hour.伦敦地铁经常是挤满了上下班的人，尤其是高峰期。

4 pile-up 交通事故n.

如：Sometimes there are serious pile-ups on the main roads. 有时候在主路上会有些严重的交通事故。

5 get stuck in traffic 堵车了

如：I got stuck in traffic during rush hour the other day. 前几天我在高峰期堵车了。

6 minicab 小型计程车

如：If you want a cheap ride, take a minicab. 如果你想坐便宜车，那就坐小型计程车吧。

7 punctually 准时地adv.

如：I’m afraid we could not arrive there punctually due to the serious pile-up and we've got stuck in traffic I think. 因为这个严重的交通事故，我们堵车了，估计不能够准时到那了。
