2. 使用名词属格时，必须注意的地方

一般来说，’s属格多用于有生命的东西，of属格多用于无生命的东西，但实际上，两种结构既有区别之处，又有相通之处。

（3）必须用’s属格的情况

1）表示时间。例如：

A week’s absence一周的缺席

例句：A week’s absence led to much speculation about her whereabouts.

一周的缺席引起了人们对她行踪的猜测。

结构分析：A week’s absence是主语，led to是谓语，much speculation about her whereabouts是宾语，其中about her whereabouts是后置定语。

2）表示度量与货币价值。例如：

Ten kilometres’ distance 10千米的距离

例句：Ten kilometers is quite a long distance for the little boy.

对于这个小男孩来说，十公里是相当长的一段距离。

结构分析：Ten kilometers是主语，is是系动词，quite a long distance 是表语，for the little boy是状语。
