问题来了，“账单”的英语是 bill 吗？no。我相信大家第一反应都是 bill，因为“买单结账”的英文说法是 check the bill, please，另外，“平摊账单”的英文是 split the bill。我们先看看 bill 在《牛津词典》中的定义：
bill 指的是“a document that shows how much you owe somebody for goods or services”（因为购买产品或消费服务而产生的费用记录）。举一些例子：the telephone bill：电话账单electricity bill：电费单gas bill：燃气账单hotel bill：酒店账单
我们在餐厅购买了食物，最后的账单实际上显示的是你欠餐厅的钱，所以用 bill 没毛病。但“支付宝年度账单”可不是显示你欠了支付宝公司多少钱，它本质是一份年度消费清单。这里我们就要用这个词了：statement。有人说这不是“声明”的意思吗？咳咳，别忘了“一词多义”现象！来看词典：
