点菜
Excuse me, may I have the menu please? 麻烦看看菜单, 如果需要看久些怕服务生等得不耐烦，可以说，could you give us a little bit more time? We haven’t decided yet, could we order some drinks first? 我们还得看会儿菜单，可以先点些饮料吗？或者问服务生，What would you recommend?有什么推荐吗? What are your specials for today?今天你们店里有什么特色菜吗？
点酒水
wine list,酒单，May I see the wine list, please? 我能看看酒单吗？通常红肉配红酒，白肉配白酒，点牛排之类的，需要喝点red wine, 海鲜或鸡肉就点white wine, 实在不会点饮料，就来杯水吧，国外的餐厅里提供的水通常是冰水iced water, 中国人通常喜欢点的热水可别说成hot water，那会把嘴巴烫起泡的，hot water是沸腾的开水，你可以说，may I just have a glass of warm water, please？如果你不说明需要什么样的水，只是说may I have some water, please？服务生也可能问你， still, or sparkling? 普通的矿泉水，还是带气泡的水.你可以说，I would like to have still water please, 我要杯普通矿泉水。
牛排
西餐厅里的菜品也很繁多，实在不会点，就点牛排嘛，steak, 羊排lamb steak, 猪排pork steak. 服务生会问你， how would you like your steak cooked ?牛排喜欢几分熟？medium rare, 三分熟； medium, 五分熟，medium well, 七分熟，至于血淋淋的一分熟rare,和无论如何也咬不动的全熟well done, 有这两个口味要求的人，毕竟是少数。I would like to have some steak, medium please. 我想要一份五分熟的牛排。
餐巾纸
餐巾纸不够时不要说I need more paper, 那样的话服务生会问你要A4,还是A3的，餐巾纸是napkin, May I have some more napkin, please? Tissue 是面巾纸，通常是在除了饭店的其他场合使用，比如I have a runny nose, do you have some tissues? 我流鼻涕了，你有面巾纸吗？
结账
在西餐厅结账不像街头买菜，所以不说how much?消费的价格也属于隐私，所以账单通常被夹在一个小皮夹子里放到餐桌上。May I have the bill, please ? 或者简单说Check, please.服务生就会一路小跑把那个小皮夹子放到你的面前啦，那作为礼节，起身离开前，额外拿出些零钱放到那个夹子，作为小费，tips.
