“据美国当地媒体消息，上周六美国科珀斯克里斯蒂一名经验丰富的引航员（如上资料图）在登船时因为船舶引航梯突然断裂，引航员不幸生亡，美国海岸警卫队已经展开了对该事故的检查。事发时，Adam正在通过引航梯爬上一艘船舶，还有一步就将登上船的时候，意外发生了，引航梯断裂,Robert Adam从20英尺高的地方坠落入水。又一位引航员为航海事业献出了生命，尽管这位美国pilot有点胖，也不至于将引水梯压断呀。作为一名surveyor发现有些朋友分不清引水梯和救生艇筏的登乘梯，今天推送一发。”
其实引水梯的要求是SOLAS第V章第23条和A.1045(27)，登乘梯的要求是SOLAS第III章第11条和LSA第VI章第6.1.6，两个东西要求不一样，长的也不一样。
引水梯检查依据为SOLAS第V章第23条和A.1045(27)solas chapter V R23:Pilot transfer arrangements1.有证书（A pilot ladder shall be certified by the manufacturer as complying with this regulation or with an international standard acceptable to the Organization）2.0-9m时，避开排水孔（it is clear of any possible discharges from the ship）。9m以上，使用组合装置，避开排水孔，下放安全绳（ secure the pilot ladder and manropes）3、舷门向内开启（Shipside doors used for pilot transfer shall not open outwards.）4、附近配备两根安全绳，带灯救生圈，抛缆绳（two man-ropes of not less than 28 mm and not more than 32 mm in diameter，a lifebuoy equipped with a self-igniting light; a heaving line）A.1045(27)的规定更加详细，有兴趣的可以找来看，比如踏板不能有结，防滑，绳子应足够粗，组合梯最大角度45度等等，实在太多。印象最深的是超过5级踏板的引航员软梯应设长度至少为1.8 m的横杆并按一定间距分布，所以引水梯长成这样

常见缺陷更多，救生筏登乘梯的缺陷花样百出，主要是没连接，扶手断，梯子坏等，这也充分说明PSCO们热衷于检查救生设备，对引水梯的检查有疏漏，也是引水员掉水里的诱因之一，这么看引水梯的检查依然需要加强。
