医学词汇| COVID-19 温暖又坚定的抗疫英汉标语

医学英语词汇是指那些有严格的医学概念，在一般情况下仅用于医学学术文献而在其他领域文献中极少出现的词汇。

医学英语包容很多外来词。外来词可以来自法语、德语、拉丁语、希腊语和斯堪的纳维亚语等。

例如：现代医学英语词汇中有源自法语的 massage(按摩)，源自西班牙语的quinine(奎宁)，源自阿拉伯语的alcohol(酒精)，来源相当丰富。

Coronavirus disease 2019——简称 COVID-19

新型冠状病毒属于β属的冠状病毒，有包膜，颗粒呈圆形或椭圆形，常为多形性，直径60-140nm。其基因特征与SARSr-CoV和MERSr-CoV有明显区别。目前研究显示与蝙蝠SARS样冠状病毒（bat-SL-CoV7C45）同源性达85%以上。体外分离培养时，2019-nCoV 96个小时左右即可在人呼吸道上皮细胞内发现，而在VeroE6和Huh-7细胞系中分离培养需约6天。

对冠状病毒理化特性的认识多来自对SARSr-CoV和MERSr-CoV的研究。病毒对紫外线和热敏感，56℃ 30分钟、乙醚、75%乙醇、含氯消毒剂、过氧乙酸和氯仿等脂溶剂均可有效灭活病毒，氯乙定不能有效灭活病毒。

规范优美的表达

例1:Lands apart, sky shared.

正译：山川异域，风月同天。

例2：岂曰无衣?与子同裳。

正译：Fear not the want of armor, for mine is also yours to wear.

例3: The king is raising his forces; I will sharpen my weapons, and march along with you.

正译：王于兴师，修我甲兵。与子偕行！

例4: The river connects all the way to Wugang.

正译：流水通波接武。

例5:On parting with you my heart is not weighed down.

正译：送君不觉有离伤。

例6: Though separated by a mountain,we'll share the same clouds and rain.

正译：青山一道同云雨。

例7: The bright moon belongs not to a single town.

正译：明月何曾是两乡。

例8: Liao River thaws, while flowers bloom in Toyama.

正译：辽河雪融，富山花开。

例9: Of the same breath and from joint branches,we hope together for the spring to come soon.

正译：同气连枝，共盼春来。

误译与改译

例1：道不远人，人无异国。

误译：The way is not far away, no one is foreign.  ×

译文中有两处词不达意的情况：“far away”是指“遥远”，“人无异国”对应译法为“no foreign country for people who are not far away”；

原句中“不断深入”在译文中没有体现。主语用“距离”更能表达原文的主旨。

“The way is not far away”的译法虽然简练，但不够严谨，不符合英语读者的阅读习惯。

改译：Great distance cannot separate us, and we all live in a united world.  √

例2：青山一道，同担风雨。

误译：Together with the green mountains, they bear the wind and rain.  ×

译文中“Together with”是介词，意为“和……在一起，陪伴”，在此修饰green mountains”属于搭配错误。

“同担风雨”可译为“share the same trials andhardships”，译文中的“bear the wind and rain”，属于典型的字面翻译。

原文两个分句是并列关系结构，使用祈使句语气显得更有号召力。

改译：Like the mountain range that stretched before you and me,let's share the same trials and hardships together.  √

例3：疫情无国界，人间有真情。

误译：The epidemic knows no borders and there is true love on earth.  ×

Virus has no country boundary 因契合人们关于危机中人性关怀和人类命运共同体的认知，唤起了大家的情感共鸣，赢得了民众的支持。

汉语的逻辑关系通常可以隐藏在字里行间，但在转译为英文时关联词要使句式结构层次分明。

改译：Virus knows no borders, but the worst of times reveals the best in people.  √

从翻译角度，该句短小精悍，要译得出彩并非易事，如何让译文也如原文般“雅”，前后对仗正是本句翻译的精妙之处。

例4：投我以木桃，报之以琼瑶。

误译：You can return it to me with a mahogany.  ×

改译:You throw a peach to me, I give you a white jade for friendship.  √

此句使用了throw a peach to somebody的句型。桃子，awhite jade 表述“琼瑶”。比信达更高级的雅的层面。
