肯明思（1894-1962），美国现代主义诗人，对现代诗歌技巧进行实验性探索的大师。其实他的诗歌内容并未背离传统，但是他在诗歌形式上所进行的各种尝试新颖奇特、层出不穷。肯明斯在作品中特地将“I”写成“i”,诗人对大写的废除是如此彻底，以至他把自己的名字都写成了“e. e. cummings”，因此他又常常被称为“小写的肯明思”。
