咏马鞍山市

一马萧萧天外来，

满城丹桂向风开。

钟敲竹海生山色，

雨到灵墟引鹤排。

陋室犹知阶草绿，

高楼长梦晓星白。

当涂数曲帆千片，

遥望横山暮霭徊。

释义：

马鞍山市如骏马奔腾而来，桂花随秋风氤氲着宜人的芬芳。东郊的濮塘风景区钟鼓噌吰，竹海苍茫，吸引文人墨客访古探幽。当涂县的灵墟山林木隽秀，水流清澈。相传西汉(前202年-9年)时丁令威，在此学仙，功成之后化为仙鹤。

位于和县城的陋室为唐代长庆四年（824），著名诗人刘禹锡任和州刺史时所建。四周绿苔铺地，百草欣荣，与“诗豪” 怀质抱真的品格相伴相生。西郊太白楼庄严辉煌，登上层楼，太白金星仿佛触手可及。太白楼面临长江，背枕翠螺山，是我国现存最具规模的一组纪念李白的古建筑群，与湖南的岳阳楼，湖北的黄鹤楼，江西的滕王阁并称“长江三楼一阁”。横望山，又名横山、隐居山，道教名胜，跨当涂、江宁、溧水三县，常年风烟缥缈，似有仙人修行其中。驻足山上，只听见远处传来当涂民歌。白帆在港口云集，水波闪烁着归航的喜悦。

Ode to Ma’anshan City

Like a horse, it runs to your eyes.

Laurel blossoms waft in autumn air.

Bells ringing, a sea 'f bamboo rises,

Rain falling, cranes fly away 'n pairs.

By the Humble House, grass on stages green.

The tower’s bright, Venus casts the light.

Mist over Mount Heng makes a sheen,

Old folk songs bring the ships in sight.

Interpretation from the Poet:

Ma’anshan City is like a sturdy steed galloping on the grasslands. It is a city full of vigor. Osmanthus, which perfumes the city in each autumn, is the city flower popular with the people there. The Bell and Drum Belt is a mystical place in the eastern suburb. When you tread on it, you will hear the echoing of bells and drums from the ancient time. Bamboos are tall and lush, rolling like a sea with the wind. Mount Lingxu is an ideal place for Taoists. It is said that Ding Lingwei in the Western Han Dynasty （206 B.C.-A.D. 24）studied Taoism here and transformed to a crane after he grasped the doctrines.

The Humble House, which was built in 824 during the reign of Emperor Li Heng in the Tang Dynasty, was the residence of Liu Yuxi during his service in Hezhou Prefecture (now He County, Ma’anshan City). It is a quiet place with arborous plants reminding visitors of Liu's lofty personality. Li Bai Tower nesting on Mount Cuiluo in the western suburb is the memorial complex of the poetic genius. It is so grand that it is regarded as one of the four great towers along the Changjiang River. The other three are Yueyang Tower in Hunan Province, Yellow Crane Tower in Hubei Province, Prince Teng Pavilion in Jiangxi Province. Mount Heng is another famous Taoist mount in Ma’anshan. It spans over three counties, namely Dangtu, Jiangning and Lishui (the latter two are under administration of Jiangsu Province). Mist floats gently around the mountain, veiling it off the worldly affairs. Immortals are said to lead a secluded life here. Ships make a voyage home. Old folk song sung by sailors are heard at the port.
